KifuArchive Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

KifuArchive is an SGF editor, Go review board, and kifu archive. Basic use does not require an account or Google sign-in.

Information You Create

SGF files and archive records may include game metadata such as player names, event names, dates, results, comments, and moves. My Archive is stored locally in your browser unless you choose to export it, publish a public record, or use optional cloud backup.

Optional Google Sign-In

Google sign-in is optional. It is used only to verify ownership for public records, unpublish actions, and optional cloud backup/restore. KifuArchive does not show your email address publicly.

Public Records

If you publish an SGF record, it becomes available through a public link and may appear in the public archive. You can choose whether to hide opponent information before publishing.

Cloud Backup

If you use cloud backup, KifuArchive stores a copy of your local archive so you can restore it later. Existing local records are not erased during restore; matching records are skipped.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete local records from My Archive on your device, unpublish public records you own, and delete the optional cloud backup for your Google account. See Data Deletion for the current control paths.

Local Storage

KifuArchive uses browser storage for autosave, settings, local archive records, install/update support, and optional ownership state. Clearing browser data may remove local records from the device, so export or back up important games.

Third-Party Services

KifuArchive may use Google sign-in and Supabase-backed services for optional ownership verification, public archive ownership, and cloud backup. Import features may fetch SGF data from URLs you provide, such as OGS or GoKifu links.
